Achievements such as PEIRA registration for the school and the successful reclaiming of the G-6 property highlight the organization’s resilience and commitment to long-term impact. Despite financial and operational challenges, APWA Islamabad continues to expand its programs, strengthen community services, and provide pathways for sustainable development.

Overview

APWA Islamabad remains dedicated to supporting women and children from low-income backgrounds. Its core initiatives focus on delivering quality education, enhancing women’s economic independence, and providing social welfare services. The APWA School in G-7 caters to 220 students from Nursery to Grade 5, with PEIRA registration ensuring continuity of education. Vocational training at the APWA Beauty Salon empowers women with professional skills, while the daycare center supports working mothers. APWA Islamabad has also navigated legal challenges, including a successful case to reclaim the G-6 property, demonstrating its resilience in safeguarding organizational assets.

Introduction

2023-2024 has been a year of perseverance, resilience, and steadfast commitment. Despite financial difficulties, property disputes, and operational hurdles, APWA Islamabad expanded its educational and vocational programs. Teachers, volunteers, and administrative teams ensured continued academic excellence for students and created pathways for women to achieve financial independence. The organization’s holistic approach combines education, skill development, and community welfare to uplift disadvantaged families and strengthen social development.

1. Educational Programs & School Activities

  • APWA School, G-7: Provides education to 220 children aged 3 to 12 years, offering classes from Nursery to Grade 5.

  • PEIRA Registration: Secured registration with the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority, ensuring future academic continuity beyond Grade 5.

  • Experiential Learning & Study Tours: Students of classes 4 and 5 visited the Islamabad Museum and Islamabad TV Station to enhance practical learning experiences.

  • Annual Academic Calendar: Regular assessments with final exams in March and the 2nd term exams in October.

2. Extracurricular & Cultural Activities

  • Independence Day Celebrations (August 14): Activities promoting patriotism and civic engagement.

  • Parent-Teacher Meetings: Strengthened parental involvement and student progress tracking.

  • Activity Week (November): Competitions and performances including speech, dramatic performances, painting, writing, singing, and Tilawat recitations.

  • Sports Day & F-9 Park Picnic: Encouraged physical development, creativity, and social bonding.

  • Grandparents’ Day: Fostered intergenerational interaction and community engagement.
