Official Visit to Sukkur and Khairpur: Assessing Progress and Strengthening APWA Facilities

An official visit was conducted to Sukkur and Khairpur by APWA representatives to review the operational status, infrastructure, and service delivery of key APWA-managed facilities. The visit included inspections of APWA Excellent World School, Kok House, and the Maternity Home, along with the completion of important administrative banking formalities. The assessment provided valuable insights into ongoing achievements, existing challenges, and areas requiring immediate attention to further enhance the quality of services offered to local communities.

APWA Excellent World School, Sukkur

The visit to APWA Excellent World School included classroom observations, discussions with faculty members, and an overall review of the school's environment and facilities. The school was found to be operating in a disciplined and organized manner, providing a positive learning atmosphere for students. Students demonstrated confidence and active participation in classroom activities, while both teaching and administrative staff showed dedication and professionalism in carrying out their responsibilities.

The primary section was observed to be functioning effectively, with well-maintained classrooms and appropriate facilities. Access to clean drinking water has been ensured through water coolers installed on each floor, contributing to student well-being and comfort. While the overall condition of the school was encouraging, certain infrastructural challenges were identified. Water leakage from upper residential flats has affected parts of the basement area, causing damage to some classrooms. In addition, a few classrooms require improved ventilation to enhance the learning environment. Ongoing repair work was noted, and further maintenance measures were recommended to address these concerns. Special appreciation was extended to Ms. Kiran for her commitment and proactive efforts in managing the school and supporting its continued development.

Kok House, Khairpur

The visit to Kok House highlighted the need for significant rehabilitation and improved management of the facility. The premises were found to require extensive maintenance, particularly in the outdoor areas, where cleanliness and upkeep need immediate attention. The inspection emphasized the importance of restoring the facility to ensure it serves its intended purpose effectively and continues to benefit the community. Recommendations were made for comprehensive renovation, improved supervision, and the implementation of maintenance measures to enhance the overall condition and functionality of the property.

Maternity Home, Khairpur

The visit to the Maternity Home reflected encouraging progress and improvements in both infrastructure and service readiness. Several important developments were observed, including the availability of essential medical supplies and the successful repair of the ambulance, significantly improving emergency response capabilities. Administrative staff demonstrated cooperation and a strong willingness to further improve healthcare services. Infrastructure upgrades were also noted, including electrical repairs and improved lighting within the labor room. Additional equipment maintenance was undertaken during the visit, including the replacement and installation of batteries to restore operational functionality. These improvements represent positive progress toward strengthening maternal healthcare services and ensuring better support for patients and healthcare providers alike.

Administrative and Banking Matters

As part of the visit, administrative formalities were completed through meetings with banking institutions, including Soneri Bank, Meezan Bank, and First Women Bank. Necessary documentation, signatures, and account-related procedures were successfully processed to support APWA's ongoing operational and financial requirements.

Looking Ahead

The visit provided a comprehensive overview of the current status of APWA facilities in Sukkur and Khairpur, highlighting both achievements and areas requiring further attention. While notable progress was observed, particularly at the Maternity Home, continued efforts are needed to address infrastructure and maintenance challenges at APWA Excellent World School and Kok House.

Through ongoing collaboration and strategic planning, APWA remains committed to improving its facilities, strengthening service delivery, and ensuring that communities continue to benefit from safe, functional, and impactful institutions.
