APWA Punjab Celebrates 77 Years of Excellence on Foundation Day

A Celebration of APWA’s Legacy

The event commenced with registration, followed by Tilawat-e-Quran and the National Anthem, setting a respectful and inspiring atmosphere. Mrs. Samia Zahid Aslam, Chairperson APWA Punjab, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and participants, followed by an introduction highlighting APWA’s history, achievements, and continued efforts toward uplifting women across Pakistan. The program featured a diverse range of meaningful activities, including a drama performance, an inspiring keynote address by Ms. Hina Jillani, and a Punjabi Mushaira addressing important women’s issues. APWA’s success stories were also presented, showcasing the organization’s impactful work and contributions at the grassroots level. The ceremony further included the distribution of shields and medals in recognition of dedication, commitment, and service. The formal proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Andleeb Khanam, followed by a visit to exhibition stalls and a lunch hosted by Mrs. Zubaida Saleem Hassan.

Presence of APWA Leadership

The celebration was honored by the presence of APWA President Dr. Tanvir Kamal and COO Sukkur & Khairpur, Ms. Kiran Adil, whose participation added significance to the occasion. They were warmly welcomed by the APWA Punjab team, led by Mrs. Samia Zahid Aslam and Ms. Ruhi Sayid, along with other members. The leadership engaged with participants, appreciated the excellent arrangements and hospitality of the Punjab Chapter, and observed the various initiatives and exhibitions showcased during the event.

In her address, Dr. Tanvir Kamal paid tribute to APWA’s visionary founder, Begum Ra’ana Liaquat Ali Khan, acknowledging her pioneering role in women’s empowerment and nation-building in Pakistan. She reflected on APWA’s longstanding achievements in education, healthcare, vocational training, and economic empowerment, highlighting the organization’s impact across both urban and rural communities. Dr. Tanvir Kamal also shared a progressive vision for APWA’s future, emphasizing unity, innovation, expansion of core programs, and stronger advocacy for women’s rights. She reaffirmed the organization’s collective commitment to building a society where every woman is empowered, every voice is valued, and every individual is given the opportunity to thrive.
