
Tribute to Begum Raana Liaquat Ali Khan on Her 121st Birthday
On Friday, 13th February 2026, the Headquarters females of the All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA), paid a heartfelt tribute to Begum Raana Liaquat Ali Khan at the Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum on the occasion of her 121st birthday. The delegation was accompanied by distinguished office bearers including President APWA Dr. Tanvir Kamal, Vice President Health Ms. Rubab, Youth Chairperson Ms. Aniqa Adil, Ms. Rashida Kiran, as well as APWA school teachers and youth members. The visit became a memorable gathering that celebrated the enduring legacy of one of Pakistan’s most prominent social reformers.
The visit began with a solemn ceremony at the Mausoleum, where Qari Usman recited the Holy Quran and offered prayers (dua) for the departed soul of Begum Raana Liaquat Ali Khan. In a mark of respect and remembrance, the team placed a floral wreath, creating a serene and reverent atmosphere that reflected deep admiration for her invaluable contributions to the nation. The presence of APWA members, teachers, and youth symbolized unity and collective respect for the visionary leader who laid the foundation of organized women’s empowerment in Pakistan.
Begum Raana Liaquat Ali Khan’s remarkable life and work left an indelible mark on Pakistan’s social landscape. Following the tribute at the Mausoleum, the delegation returned to the APWA Headquarters, where a cake-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate her 121st birthday. A special youth session was also organized in Zahra Hall at the APWA Headquarters. During this session, President APWA Dr. Tanvir Kamal addressed the youth, emphasizing the importance of leadership, dedication, and social responsibility in today’s era. She encouraged young members to study and understand the vision of Begum Raana Liaquat Ali Khan and to translate that vision into meaningful action within their communities. Following her address, youth participants engaged in an interactive discussion about Begum Raana’s legacy, her contributions to women’s empowerment, and the relevance of her work in contemporary society. The session concluded with youth members outlining practical next steps, including increased community outreach, educational initiatives, and strengthened youth engagement under the APWA platform.
