Founded in 1949 by Begum Ra’ana Liaquat Ali Khan, APWA was born from a vision of empowerment, dignity, and justice for the women of Pakistan. As a trailblazing First Lady and social reformer, she dedicated her life to uplifting communities through education, healthcare, and economic independence.

2024 has been a transformative year for APWA. We’ve scaled grassroots initiatives and influenced national policy, continuing to champion women and children’s rights and futures across Pakistan. Our programmes are evolving to meet today’s needs, embracing technology amplifying youth voices and building sustainable solutions for all.
